Taalschool Hanneke is a private language school for educated learners who want to learn Dutch, English, or Spanish at different paces. The copyright of all our courses and our own course material belongs to Taalschool Hanneke.
Application
Application is possible through completion of the online registration form, not by e-mail, phone or a visit to our school. The online application does not compel the applicant to participate in any course nor does it guarantee that the applicant can take a course.
Admission
After your application is accepted we expect from each participant sufficient commitment, motivation, and respect for prevailing norms and values in our school.
Placement
Anyone who wants to start at a higher level than the beginners' level will sit a level test consisting of a written assignment, a grammar test, and a brief interview.
Registration
Our enrolled students have priority over new students. New and returning students will receive an invitation for their first class one week before the start of their course. Those who cannot be placed in one of our courses will receive an email with the question whether they would like to be on our waiting list.
Course Cancellation
After completing a course with Taalschool Hanneke, students will automatically be enrolled in the next course level. Unless they notify by email that they do not wish to continue (or attend again at a later date). This notification must be sent at least five work days before the start of the next course to info@taalschoolhanneke.com Enrollment will then be canceled and the student will not be charged any costs.
New students can also cancel by email until five work days before the start of their course. Timely cancellation means the student will not be charged any costs.
If a student cancels at a later moment or during a course they will remain obligated to pay for the course, and there is no restitution of payments. Refund is only possible if continuation cannot reasonably be requested.
Course Materials
Taalschool Hanneke will provide the course materials. The costs are included in the invoice. It is also possible to order (non-mandatory) dictionaries during the information and placement meeting.
During the information and placement meeting attendants receive a sample course contract (in English or Dutch). Every new student will sign the official contract, and receives a copy of it, before their first class with Taalschool Hanneke.
Students continuing onto the next course will sign a new contract at the end of the course, before the start of the new course.
Costs and Payment
During the information and placement meeting participants receive information about the costs (of the courses / materials).
In the first week of the month we send the invoices which have to be paid within two weeks from the date stated on the invoice. If a student or a paying agent does not comply with the obligation to pay, the student may be barred from taking further classes.
Attendance and Cancellation of Classes
Students and teachers register class attendance by initialing an attendance list.
There is an attendance requirement of 80%. If a student cannot attend a class, they shall notify their teacher by e-mail before at least 24 hours the start of the class. Students who are absent without notification, will receive a request to contact the teacher or the administration.
Retaking Tests
Students may retake tests, or take tests they missed earlier due to absence. Any missed or failed tests after that cannot be taken or retaken.
Only after consultation and in exceptional cases will students be allowed to resit a test after a course.
Switching
After a course a student may switch from one program to another after consulting and with the consent of the teacher. The student needs to send and email to info@taalschoolhanneke.com
Customer satisfaction
Upon completion of the trajectory at Taalschool Hanneke, students are signed up for a customer satisfaction survey.
Liability
Taalschool Hanneke does not assume any form of liability for damage or losses except those caused by intent or gross negligence on the part of our teachers.
Complaints
We try to deal with any complaints in proper consultation. If disagreement persists, then the student can lodge an official complaint to info@taalschoolhanneke.com
Privacy
In our administration we will not share any private information and will comply with legal privacy standards.
